Journal of Praxis in Higher Education (JPHE) is a journal dedicated to high quality research on praxis within, and related to, teaching, learning and researching in higher education. It welcomes submissions by researchers from all disciplines, as well as from any academic tradition.
Praxis in higher education should be broadly interpreted. In an era characterised by internationalisation, increasing accountability, strong ties between universities and national and regional economies, and imperatives concerning sustainable development, university communities are under great pressure to meet ever-increasing and often competing demands. What is sometimes lost in the daily struggle to meet growing demands is attention to universities’ civic responsibilities and education for the ‘public good’; that is, education as praxis.
JPHE is fully peer-reviewed, applying a triple blind review system in order to ensure the integrity of the review process. As a web-only journal committed to the widest possible dissemination of research, JPHE is fully open access and does not demand author fees. Accepted contributions are published under Creative Commons licencing (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License; please visit the Creative Commons website for complete terms https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode).
JPHE is not confined to any particular theoretical stance or any specific methodology. A submitted paper must, however, present novel and interesting research, and do so in a clear, concise, and scholarly manner.
Submissions must be anonymised and sent in a separate file (named “[title of the paper]”). Author information and abstract (200 words maximum) should be submitted in a separate file (named “author information”). Both files should be submitted as .doc or .docx files. The paper should be between 6 000 and 8 000 words long; if shorter or longer, an explicit justification is required for the paper to be considered. Short reviews of dissertations (2000-3000 words) will be considered. The journal uses APA (6th edition) referencing system (see https://www.apastyle.org/ ). However, at the submission stage, no particular reference system is required; any system that is coherent and functional is acceptable.
Manuscripts should be sent by email to email@example.com. The submitted manuscript will then be assigned to one of the journal editors, who will recruit reviewers with expertise in the relevant area. Normally, the review process will be completed within three months from submission.
JPHE was founded in 2018 and is based at the University of Borås, Sweden.
